How often do you listen to the little voice with in your head? Now there is a difference, sometimes the voice is negative and harmful to you. I like to call it my Itty Bitty S#%&y Committee. The negative talk that sometimes can be very loud. What I've been learning from a beautiful friend of mine is to ask this negative self talker inside my head to trust me.
Trust is a big word for me, it came up a week ago when working with my massage therapist/reiki master. She was down at my feet and said to me the word "trust". A bunch of emotions came up. Trusting others to help me, trusting myself, and trusting the Universe. All those three areas I'm still working on. I'm not perfect, I'm me, which is perfect in my heart. I know I got stuff to work on, we all do!
Tonight I was watching the movie via you-tube of "The Shift" it has Wayne Dyrer in it as the main character. It's a pretty neat movie. Lots of great messages in it. The one that stuck with me this time is "Don't die with your song still inside you." Now, that's a different voice, it's the voice in your heart. I took it as what is your heart song? We all have one in us. Maybe it's painting, speaking, gardening, dancing. Take a moment and listen in silence to your heart. What is it really trying to tell you?
Mine is dance, and being of service to others. As I wrote about it in my short story, being told by my Mum that I don't look like a dancer any more to stop dancing broke my heart. I completely stopped dancing. To the point when in high school at dances friends had to show me how to dance. I slowly started to dance again. Till now in this present time I dance at least once a day. Even around in my living room to a piece of music.
This past week, I've also had wonderful opportunities to meet with friends for tea and have amazing conversations. Making brilliant connections with others, creating and dreaming big with them. One friend and I are planning a women's weekend in the mountains in a couple of months. Working on the mind, body, and spirit of being a woman, in all aspects. Both the spiritual side and sensual side. It was so much fun to create with her, and then come home and create two different "play lists" on my I-Pod to use for the weekend.
Another friend has asked me to assist her with volunteer things for an event/workshop she is having in the fall. It's going to be so much fun working with her!
I am listening to the song in my heart and acting on them. Will you stop Sister and listen?
I leave you with this beautiful mini movie from you-tube all about dancing. I love the quotes in this. Enjoy!

Heart's Desires
A while ago this quote came into my e-mail box: "Understand your purpose in life by feeling your heart's desires." ~ Marcia Wieder
This quote really spoke to me. As I sit here this morning in a local coffee shop I look around and wonder how many others in the shop really know what their purpose in life is?
What in life makes their heart sing? What gets them jazzed about life?
What gets you jazzed about life? What makes your heart sing?
Why do you get up in the morning? What keeps you going?
My coach has a wonderful message on her facebook page: "You have the power to transform your own life. Get clear on your purpose - then open your heart and let it come to you."
I love this message too! It was she who helped me figure out my purpose. I open my heart and let go of the "how" things will happen. I will create magic! I am a powerful creator. Yes I have to take steps to create the magic, and so do you!
I know I've written about this before, but I'll keep doing it! I love inspiring other women, I love watching them step into their power. Through many outlets, but one for sure is through sacred body movement. It is something I could do I love it, it's a job I could do for free. It's my passion/purpose to inspire women to be fully who they are and accept their own wisdom, beauty, grace and power.
Another thing I've done to step into my own power, is that I've booked my photo shoot with Impressive Photography. I will be doing a boudoir photo shoot with them, as well as a shoot that's more on the professional side of things. I've never done a boudoir photo shoot before.
Growing up with lots of body self image issues I had a huge struggle with seeing myself as beautiful. As well as lots of self confidence issues, it was a struggle growing up sometimes. I thought of myself especially in high school as the "fat sister". My younger sister I thought at that time was prettier because she was smaller than I was.
But now, I've come to accept my body the way it is, and love it as it is now. Yes I am still on a journey to live healthier and eat healthier, but it will always be there. I've journeyed from being a size 16/18 to now a size 11! I am proud of what I've done.
I give thanks to my teachers along my journey. Di from Burlesquercise for it is you who helped me bring out my inner sex kitten! And learn the body movements that I now use to inspire my own clients. The entire Sr. Staff team at WarriorSage for helping me figure out who I am, develop my personal power, and shine my true heart.
Doing the work on myself, taking time for me has been important. I wish for you to take time for yourself, and see what your heart really desires to do.
Blessings!

sitting in a cafe
This morning I finally took a moment and came out of my apartment to write. I'm currently sitting this Sunday morning in a Second Cup in my home town. I just finished enjoying a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and I'm still enjoying a wonderful large cup of a vanilla bean latte. It's a thrilling experience to be doing so.
At my last coaching session with my coach, part of her homework assignment was to take at least 2 hours a week and have some quiet time. So this week I've decided to have my quiet time out here in Second Cup. Am I in a quiet space? No, but is my mind able to be quiet and just write and just BE? YES! So let's see where this blog post takes me today!
The area of town that I am siting in, is a great spot to people watch. It's on the corner of a "trendy" area of the city. There are lots of people in this second up who to my eyes appear calm and centered, there are some however who appear to my eyes to be maybe a little lost. Or perhaps looking for something. It would be wonderful I think, if the entire world woke up to the beauty that they are, to the love that they are.
When one is rested in their heart, they seem grounded and at peace. Magic is able to happen. Be willing to keep open and love all around you. See the joy and bliss in everything. As the world keeps opening magic will appear. The world is shifting slowly, we in North America are grasping this concept. Other countries/continents have been doing this for centuries. Think of the people who live in Bali, from one of my favourite books "Eat Pray Love" the main character in the book goes to Bali for 3 months to learn how to Love. The guru she meets asks her a question at one point. "Can you smile, even in your kidney's?" Think about it....can you be so happy that you can smile inside your body? Not just in your heart, but all the other organs inside you?
What makes you truly happy? What makes you quiver with love and energy? I know I've said this many times on this blog, but it's always good to share what makes you happy often with others. And it's dance. When I'm dancing I'm happy. It could be when I'm dancing in my living room, at dance practice, when I'm performing in front of others, or even sitting here now in this Second Cup, I'm listening to music and I'm dancing in my head. My heart is smiling, but my other organs are signing as well.
Find below a video I found on you-tube. I do not own any of the content on the video, or the music. It's called Heaven's Rejoice. The music has not many words, the few words that are heard is "I love you". Take 5min and enjoy this video. And let the pictures make you smile, even possibly in your kidney's!

Open Heart
A little over a year ago, I spoke my truth to one of the girls who I dance with. I don't actually dance with her, she's in a level above me in this moment, but when I was speaking my truth to her I was in level 2 and she was in 4. I was helping my dance teacher with her level 1 class when she came into help as well. My teacher, myself (in level 2) and her in level 4 were demonstrating a walking drill. I took a breath and said to her that I aspire to be in level 4 with her, and I see her as a mentor to me. As well as if she ever has any guidance, tips, corrections to offer that I openly accept them.
Dancing is one of my passions, I love to dance and openly take guidance from my teacher and this other. So today when myself and the other Sizzle Girls (level 3) were having an extra practice my mentor came in for her own rehearsal/practice. She was watching us dance, and at one point called me over to her. She gave me some corrections and had me show her.
I thanked her lots and she said that if she sees me doing it again she was going to come over and smack me! I lovingly and openly said okay.
It's one thing to have an open heart when things are going smoothly, but it's completely another when one is given correction(s). Send love anyway, and keep an open heart, no matter the situation.

Breaking through
This past weekend was the workshop called Sex, Passion, and Enlightenment. I first took this course back in 2006. It was a powerful experience when I first took it. It was the first time in my adult life where I had a temper tantrum.
This past weekend I was there as a volunteer staff. I've staffed the Sex, Passion, and Enlightenment a few times now. I always learn something about myself or breakthrough another barrier.
I had two break throughs this weekend. The first one was during one night, the ladies were all dancing and the men were standing in pairs foccussing on their partner. I was enjoying myself dancing and having a good time. There was a man who caught my eye, and he caught mine. When this happened, I had a moment of wanting to close my heart and light to the world. But instead, I stopped, took a breath and opened my heart back up. What has happened in the past, is that I'll close my heart and stop dancing and shining my love light.
The second one came as well when dancing with the women, and the men were still standing in partners. I had one of my Goddess mentors/sisters/teachers come up behind me and put her arms around my stomach and danced very close to me. I didn't jump or flinch, or get out of the situation. I have a large personal space bubble around me, with both men and women.
The two pictures above is of my two Teachers/Mentors. They have helped me get through some tough times. These two Goddesses lead the Women's Tent at Sex, Passion, and Enlightenment.
I am proud of myself for letting go and relaxing around others this weekend. Even today, I took time and replenished myself and had a one hour massage. I deserve it, because I am worth it!
When have you had taken that 2% step to open your heart more?
